Prolusion. UK band Sendelica have been a fixture in the psychedelic and progressive rock circuit for a couple of decades by now, with the number of their releases to be counted in the dozens. The most recent studio production by this seasoned and productive band is called "Nirmata", and was released towards the end of the summer of 2025 through UK label Fruits de Mer Records.

Analysis. On this album, the majority of the playing time has been used to explore the gentler side of the psychedelic rock and progressive rock spectrum. Light toned and dreamladen textures floating and fluctuating in different manners are staples on this production, with some elegant and careful sometime use of the saxophone adding a bit of a jazzier feel to some of the compositions. Dreamladen psychedelic rock and subtly ominous sounding cosmic music of the ambient variety can be found here, while the gently fluctuating and reverberating yet also softly chaotic and expressive concluding 'Peyote Sunrise' reminds me just a little bit of one of the saxophone flavored compositions that is a part of the soundtrack for the original "Blade Runner" movie. In between we get gentler escapades with a noise-flavored guitar presence that comes with a little bit of a post-rock attitude, one song that explore the contrast between a rougher sounding guitar presence with the flowing and elegant keyboard textures as well as a composition that adds a further element of chaotic impulses to such a landscape. All along with everything safely wrapped up in a subtle or at times more overt cosmic sounding display.

Conclusion. Sendelica have developed into a productive and creative powerhouse over the years, assured in what they want to create and just as seasoned in the manner in which they assemble and finalize the landscapes they have the desire to explore at any given time. Those who tend to enjoy bands that have one foot in the psychedelic rock department and the other inside of the progressive rock realm, while also adding some cosmic seasoning to this blend of traditions, should have a high chance of feeling very much at home with the landscapes explored on this production. A solid album.
