BANDS & PERFORMERS:

Light Coorporation
(USA) / April 21, 2013

Forthcoming release (notes coming from the band):

Dear Friends, we are happy to announce the release of new album, “III”. As we finished work on the material the third CD seems to vary from the previous two: Rare Dialect and Aliens From Planets Earth. This time together with twelve musicians we have created a new tone and sound for our music. What can you hear on the third album Light Coorporation? There are ten compositions, the string section where double bass were played by using violin bow and a strong brass section don’t let you forget about them. We hope that you will enjoy arrangements of sounds of dirty guitar and classical instruments combining strong accents of tenderness, anxiety and space. As on previous albums, in that case we used only analog recording equipment, with the support of old microphones and vintage stuff from the 70’s.

Camel
(UK) / April 21, 2013

Latest News:

Camel has added more dates to their highly-anticipated return to live performance in October. They initially announced one concert, at London’s Barbican Arts Centre, on October 28, where they’d perform their third album The Snow Goose in full for the first time since 1975. Now they’ve listed a total of eight shows, five of them in the UK, all ahead of the London performance. And their website hints there could be more in the future. Andrew Latimer will be joined by Colin Bass, Denis Clement, Guy LeBlanc and Jan Schelhaas for the shows – their first since their farewell tour in 2003. The band previously explained of the now sold-out London appearance: “The evening pays tribute to former band member Peter Bardens, who died of cancer at the same time as frontman Latimer was battling a terminal illness. Ten years later, Latimer has regained health and is willing to celebrate a career that spans over four decades. This two-set show will also embrace compositions recorded throughout those years in a personal covenant of appreciation for a deeply rewarding life of music.”

Meanwhile, the band have addressed fan inquiries as to the possibility of a new album. They explain: “It’s somewhere in the making. When you spend two full years trying to anticipate – and outwit – the worst scenario possible, it takes a rather insidious toll. When the storm passes, it’s an involuntary reflex to get right back to business. We wanted to get Camel back on the road, write a new album, record a new DVD; just get on with it in general.”

  • J. D. Overdrive – “Fortune Favors the Brave”
  • Doogie White & La Paz – “The Dark and the Light”
  • Anti Tank Nun – “Fire Follow Me”

As previously announced, J. D. Overdrive’s sophomore studio CD titled “Fortune Favors the Brave”, is scheduled to be released in late May. The band was formed in 2007 when guitarist Michal “Stempel” Stemplowski (along with drummer Luksus and bassist Kuba) recruited vocalist Wojciech “Susel” Kaluza for his new rock project dubbed Jack Daniels Overdrive. They self-released their debut EP called “Pure Concentrated Evil", which received a bunch of great reviews in various webzines and magazines. They played their very first show supporting Jesus Chrysler Suicide (a legendary Polish act) and the following two opening for Beatallica. In the meantime the band experienced two line-up changes, welcoming in their ranks drummer Lukasz “Jooras” Jurewicz and bassist Lukasz “Peo” Pomiet³o. In March 2009 they were given the honor of performing in Krakow with the living legend of stoner metal – Phil Anselmo's Down. In the following months came the inevitable – they changed their name to J. D. Overdrive to avoid legal problems with the Tennessee tycoon. And just when they thought that nothing can surprise them – on March 9th, 2011 they opened for Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society in Warsaw. After over three years of gathering experience at numerous live shows and sharpening their material, J.D. Overdrive were proud to release their debut album. The album entitled "Sex, Whiskey & Southern Blood" was released by Metal Mind Productions in June 2011. This year and the following brought more live performances and the band supported such acts as Blood Ceremony, Whitesnake and Soulfly. Now, in 2013 they are ready to return with their new album.

The British band Doogie White & La Paz returns with a brand new release. The sophomore album entitled “The Dark and the Light” is set to be released on May, 27th in Europe and June, 4th in USA. Scottish vocalist Doogie White came to the attention of the worldwide audience when Ritchie Blackmore asked him to be the lead singer in his reformed Rainbow. They recorded one album together - “Stranger in Us All.” Doogie would go on to sing with Swedish neo-classical guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen for over a six and a half year period, record two albums and tour the world.

Anti Tank Nun, a band created by Tomek ‘Titus’ Pukacki, the well-known vocalist and bass guitarist of Acid Drinkers, and the phenomenal 15-year old guitarist Igor ‘Iggy’ Gwadera, is in the final stage of work on the material for their sophomore release. The album entitled "Fire Follow Me" is scheduled for release on May, 27th in Europe and July, 2nd in USA (via MVD).
