BLACK WIDOW Records
(Italy) / January 20, 2004

Black Widow Records - new releases:

  • Ripper - "And the Dead Shall Rise" LP / CD (BWR-070)
Originally released by Iron Works Records (Los Angeles) in 1986 as a very limited edition (including picture-discs and various coloured-vinyl pressings), "And The Dead Shall Rise" has become a collectible icon now. Recorded at Rampart Studios (Houston) in 1985, "And The Dead Shall Rise" possesses everything what made the '80's metal-music great. Haunting keyboards (courtesy of Steve Bogle/The Hunger), four eerie lead-vocalists, powerful guitars, ominous bass and thunderous drums set the tone and feel for this metallic masterpiece.

  • Areknames - "Areknames" CD (BWR-071)
We are proud to present this new Italian band that will bring you the magic of the '70's classic Prog in the style of VDGG, Quartermass, and Monument with the wonderful Mellotron and Hammond organ arrangements plus a heavy guitar on 6 long tracks. Line-up: Michele Epifani: organ, electric piano, synth, Mellotron, Harpsichord, electric & acoustic guitars, recorder, vocals; Piero Ranalli: bass; Mino Vitelli: drums, Arabian Tabla, & other percussion

  • ST-37 - "Insect Hospital" - 2LP/CD (BWR-068)
This time ST-37 will bring you an old Sci-Fi cult close to such classics as Solaris and Metropolis. The album consists of two long suites perfectly reproducing a classic Space Rock sound, and also Psychedelic & Acid Space Rock, Kraut-Rock, and Dark Wave. Don't miss this masterpiece, especially those into Hawkwind, Can, & Brian Eno.

  • Presence - "The Sleepers Awake" + "Live" 2LP/CD (BWR 069)
"The Sleepers Awake", originally released only on CD in 1994, is finally reissued on CD and for the first time on LP with the addition of the band's "Live" album, which includes a superb cover version of Led Zeppelin's classics Kashmir. "The Sleepers Awake" is a concept album with remarkable philosophically theosophic lyrics.

  • Northwinds - "Great God Pan" CD
    Available again

  • Il Sefnio Del Commando - "Il Sefnio Del Commando" CD Available again
